Recently Google announced that they are going to combine their web mail service, gMail, and their IM service, Google Talk, into one so that you can instantly see which of your e-mail contacts are online and chat them up if so desired.

- This service really does interest me, but it also scares me. I forgot to mention in the article that I still don't totally trust my gMail account, due to the ad targeting. What does everyone else think?

- The privacy issues surrounding this bother me a bit, however the technology excites me. I wish Google would do more things of this nature, integrating their various services.

- Some people are just messed up, for no real reason, and I think this is a prime case of that. I do however believe parents should actively monitor what their children do and not try to rely on outside forces, such as the government, to do it for them.

- I am really tired of all the Super Bowl hype. It is just a game, and yes I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. What bothers me is that in our supposed "advanced society" we still worship sports stars as gods. Instead of watching a full week of Super Bowl coverage please, please go read a book.
